Setting; a fight over the single pair of scissors being used by two children
Child of five; (said in a very calm voice) "I am very upset right now and need some time to myself. I am going to the bathroom to be alone for a few minutes. When I come back I would like to make a compromise about the scissors" (child of five does indeed go to the bathroom and spend 5 minutes by himself to then return and say...) "I have a compromise. I think we should go upstairs and find another pair of scissors so that we each have a pair and we won't fight over them anymore"
What could I say except "Sure..." in dumbfoundment.

This young person obviously needs to move directly to the UN, do not pass go, just get there. I guess we should all consider behaving so beautifully!
Makes one kind of embarassed about all the times one thought that someone (or self) was behaving like a child . . . . . obviously we were all just behaving like adults.
